The vicious cycle!
An example is: I can't put the dash cap on, because there aren't any speakers mounted yet and it would be hard to take it apart later on, thus, I need to buy a set of 4x6's to go into the dash.
But...I can't put down the new carpet either, because I'll have to pull it up to lay the wiring down for the rear speakers. So I need to put the wiring first.
But...I can't just have wiring hanging out in the back of the car all loose like that, so I have to buy a set of 6x9's to mount back there.
But...I can't mount any 6x9's unless I build or get an enclosure for them back there, so I have to buy an enclosure.
But...While I'm at it, I might as well get the subwoofer that goes into the box, because who want's to look at a hollow hole in the middle of the enclosure?
But...I can't button up the center instrument panel, because I have to install a stereo there one day and since I have 90% of what I need, I might as well get it now!
But..There's not enough power to run all the damn speakers, so I'll need to get an amp to mount it somewhere in the back.
And that's how I blew, I mean spent $700 yesterday on a new stereo for my 74' C4.
What's really bad is, one morning I caught myself trying to shift the column shifter on my 06' Focus wagon, which doesn't exist!
Last winter I went to do a motor swap to a ZZ4. Ended up with new brake lines, rebuilt calipers, ignition and headlight wire harnesses, tranny rebuild, and a new starter.
However, this year she has never driven better. Put more miles on it this year than the previous 3-4 years combined.
