Default 68 3916321 Block Value

Inquiring to find out the value / good selling price for a 427 3916321 2 bolt main block? The block is stamped IM, indicating that the block was for a 68 Corvette 427 400 HP with 3X2BC, 4 speed.

Casting date is A18 indicating January 18, 1968.

Block has been tested and is a standard bore, 2 bolt mains.

Thanks

Maybe a couple hundred bucks, unless you can find the car that it originally came from. Then it could be worth substantially more, or maybe not.

agreed, in good shape standard bore $300 - $400

454 blocks are plentiful and cheap, so if someone was going to build a 427 they could....onyl way the 427 could be worth real money if it were to be reunited with the original car

restamping numbers etc, is bogus, a forgery, it is fake...so doesnt really matter that it is indeed a '427'

that being said, dont scrap it either....be good for a street strip car

Default 1968 Block T0227IM / 18S413415

This block came out of a 68 Corvette in South Florida, block has been stored for 30 years.

Stamped Engine pad numbers are T0227IM / 18S413415. I doubt that the pad was ever re stamped.

No I do not know where the car is that goes with the block. I was told that the engine was removed and a race engine was installed for drag racing.

I posted the VIN number, maybe the car is still around and new owner is looking for original block.

Unless someone needs a Period correct motor for thier restoration.

I guess all those 427s I have seen for sale that are CE blocks are really worthless huh...

They're certainly nothing special.

maybe not but I have yet to see one priced less than a grand.

It all depends on that person looking for a period correct block for a restoration where that matters. Otherwise its not really worth much to anyone else.

People can put any price they want on them, but in the end all that matters is the selling price.

Someone looking for a period correct block will pay more, but those people aren't all that plentiful.

not worthless, but not worth a ton either, not like it is a 1500 block or something...

I could see $300 - $500

I have some rare, 'original' blocks for Camaros, Corvettes and we have sold some, we never got a ton of money for them...
