Just got my first vette. Its a 1980. I was told all the interior was original.
My dilemma is that i am going to replace the carpet and seats. Is the carpet and seats supposed to be the same color? Here are some pics of my car. Thanks

Looks original to me! Before you spend a bunch of dough on the interior, have you thought of cleaning it up? You'd be amazed at what you can do with some of the better upholstery cleaners. I cleaned up a set of grimy bucket seats and while they didn't look new, they sure didn't look bad either! It took five or six times to get them clean, but it was worth it.

Thanks all is that Doeskin carpet? F22 what you can not see is one of the seats is coming a part and needs to be replaced. I do not like the cloth in the seats. I prefer the leather.

For 1980, when the Doeskin interior was ordered, the entire interior (carpet, seats, door panels, dash, etc) was all the same color. Admittedly, the cloth inserts in the seats and door panels, may have originally been slightly different, but mainly because they were a different material, and the nap of the cloth caused the shading of the cloth to vary some.

Your interior would have all been the same color as the dash and leather areas. The carpet and cloth panels in your 80 have faded/changed, color over the years. This is actually not that uncommon, with cloth interiors and carpet, from that era.

78-79 Corvettes with the Doeskin interior, did come with either matching carpet, or a darker brown carpet, but this was not the case with 80 Doeskin.

This is a good thing, as the cloth used for Corvette seats is no longer available, and has not been reproduced. The only thing available is either the OEM type leather covers, or replacement vinyl ones.

80 Corvettes with cloth seats, had the matching cloth door panel inserts. The leather interior came with vinyl door panel inserts, in place of the cloth ones.

It looks original to me.. The cloth covers as mentioned above are not available. The carpet is not a color and below I've pasted a color sample chart from the web site.

We have a sale running right now on interior items and the items in the forum special section are included.

Carpet can be found here.. and our personal choice would be the ACC brand.

Mounted Seats are found at this link:

Leather covers are here

Leather like covers can be found here

For details please see the current sale thread and the benefits of the current sale codes running in this section. by clicking Here

Yes to a degree. You have the available cloth upholstery and you can see your carpet is a tad darker than the rest of the trim. It is sometimes difficult to get a perfect color match from dissimilar materials.

Your interior looks stock to me.
