Well the guy was kind of on the defense about it. After seeing it and knowing I was not interested I just asked him questions anyway. I tried to get him to give me a ballpark figure of what he valued it at. He just kept saying make me an offer. I tried to inform him of the bird cage in case he decided to restore it himself but he cut me off and said it was solid and he wasn't worried about it. His last resort was he was going to have it cut in half and turned into 2 signs to hang on the wall. I'm not complaining about this one but people just don't want to let stuff go!
Id drag it out. It obviously wouldn't be a concurs car, Id bet I could make it a helluva street looker without being upside down in it. This is what im looking for. Steering box.... no worries replace with jeep box, frame parts sourced from later year cars. Bird cage would be the only hit I'd be worried about. Mold? Black interior, probably clean eighty percent of it . It would have to be a "pickers" price though.

I think that I would tell him "I am sure that it will make a great sign" shake his hand and walk away.
I love these kind of finds, it makes me wonder just what is a car like this really worth in a number of different scenirios. First is scrap metal price, then parts car then to restore and in this guys case as a wall sign! I think the cars highest return to a buyer is in parts car but it takes a lot of time and space and even some of the right tools. I say take what the scrap price would estimate to be an offer to take it for just over that by maybe $100.00 bucks. To bad people dont know how to take care of things.

From the looks of the tires, it looks like it was in a flood then rolled out and put back. The top part of the front tire shows where the water line was. Also the bottom of the same tire looks like it was in water also. This would explain all the rust on th bottom of the car. TOO much work here for a novice.
