Well here it is. 1970 Corvette, 2 owner, original yellow car with gold repaint. 25k miles and has been in this spot for 36 years. Owner claims it is original car except for paint. It is so tight I can't get very good pictures but it does not look like a good story.
Now that is just sad.....
The life jacket in the passenger seat explains it all.
I guess whoever parked this at the bottom of pond had to swim out of it.
Air up those tires, wash the dust off, and you're good to go! Actually, the rust alone would cause me to walk away. Somebody could bring it back to life but as much rust as is visible, you could be in for birdcage and frame replacement. That is, however, an interesting story.

$1000. Tops.
Interior is so molded it's gone too. You're basically buying a VIN.
I take it back...
$500. Tops.
Otherwise, you'll look like the car, so far under water you'll be.
Truely a shame. Looks like it was nice, once upon a time...
Wow, the first pictures show a lot of potential, and then, well... That said, I like it. Would definitely need a donor car to put it back together. If the price was right, could be a good project, depending on how bad the birdcage is. Otherwise, it probably would indeed be a better parts car. Great pics, thanks for sharing.
That would be good if you just wanted a body (and you would still have to probably repair the birdcage.) Way too much rust to be an original rebuild, everything would have to go.
Where was this at? State and or town. I looked at a 71 years ago a lady had that was her husbands that had past away that looked like that car from underneath. She was asking 20K. I thanked her and walked away. The trailing arms looked like swiss cheese. I was shocked.
Would be interesting to know where it is stored as in how close to the ocean, northern salt roads, what other corrosive were stored in garage with it, like chlorine, bleach etc.
I stored a couple cars in an unheated farm shed with dirt floor for over 35 years and had next to no rust damage at all.
What a shame. My 72 sat for nearly 20 yrs outside, under a carport. But it was in AZ. I can show you pictures of dirt and rust that I took before I dismantled the car, probably scared a lot of potential buyers off. But it blasted right off and every part was reusable. Once powder coated everything looks factory new.
The pictures you have shown us are far worse. Heavy flaky rust. I'm afraid little of that car would be reusable. Except for the glass and fiberglass parts.
