Steering Box Rebuild Complete

Here are the results of my recent steering box rebuild. Looks great and the 1-2 inches of play in the steering is gone!!! The car drives like a dream now. Rebuild by Gary Ramadei and new rag joint from Zip Corvette.

Nice Job, Looks good. Was hoping this thread was how to rebuild the box. Oh well.

Sorry it wasn't the technical detail you needed. From my perspective it was indeed how to rebuild the box ... remove it, Fedex to a reputable rebuilder (not a generic rebuilder who will replace the bushings and return it), get the box back and re-install.

You made a good choice. Gary is to steering/suspension what Lars is to carbs! Always very precise in all that he does.

I was very impressed with Gary and had heard too many stories here about rebuilds gone bad from other generic rebuilders. Gary gave a complete diagnosis before beginning, gave me several rebuild options and tailored the rebuild to my wishes. He sent lots of photos of the progress and went far beyond what I ever expected.

I don’t think he has a website, although he should. I found his name on lots of posts here on corvetteforum (gtr1999) and I think I found his email using a google search. gary.ramadei@radiall.com
The cost will vary depending on what you want and the condition of your box (internal gears).
