Steeroids is what most of us are running but the racks have nominal differences.

Very little difference. I'd go with the cheapest price.

I have a Steeroids and have installed Rack Attack and they are both very much the same. Just very minor differences in the tie rod ends. As said whichever one is on sale at the moment.

Have had steeroids for quite a while and have been very happy with it. Makes the car drive like a new one. To get the full benefit, I rebuilt the front suspension while I was in there. Very happy with my choice.

I don't have any experience with any of the r&p systems on the market, but I am thinking about going with the Flaming River system. It seems like the other systems have a lot of play in their mounting brackets. I like the fact that the Flaming River rack is solidly mounted in a frame-to-frame cradle, which should eliminate any play.

I've been a leery of Flaming River since I attempted to install one of their steering columns. Nothing fit like it was supposed to. My only concern about their R&P system is that, while the other manufactures use racks that are common to GM cars, FR makes their own so that if the rack should go bad replacement could be expensive or impossible if they quit making the system. That and they are about $300 more than the others.

I agree with that one, I want to run the vansteel tube type upper and lower arms with the coilvers double adjusters.then maybe a 5 link rear set up, mine will be for sreet and auto cross, maybe some track days.

I went with the FR Rack set-up. I'm not sure what you mean by you have to make your own arm to connect to the column. I've been assured its a direct bolt in.

I bought a set up like that for my 67 GTO. The cradle mounts to the spot where the idler arm would bolt up and the steering box bolted up. Bolted right in with no drilling or welding. Looks factory.

I put a Flaming River unit on a '71 Camaro.....lost a lot of turning radius. It was okay because I had a spool in the rear end, but IMHO I don't think it would be very good for a regular street driven car.

Just my thought's,

Glen
