ENGINE internals identification
All I recall is the guy telling me it was professionally built at a local race shop, and that they told him he could step up one cam size to make more power, but he stayed with the smaller. It is only a 2 bolt main and stock 70's 76cc heads. I know it is nothing special but would like to figure it out so I can either sell it or do a few things and use it as a temporary until I build what I want.
Pistons have nothing on the tops but are a 4 valve relief dish. Under the skirts are Z8222 4 ( 4 maybe = .040 over?) and "Made in Canada". From searching it looks as though they are Zellner cast OE type pistons, but I can't find dish size to determine compression ratio. While googling someone crossed referenced it to be the same as this

Looks very similar except mine have an additional "notch" out of the forward facing side of each piston. Help with CC estimate and compression?
Rods have an "X" cast in them and then on the shiny flats, each have a stamp "+2". I'm assuming this is from it being balanced.
Haven't pulled the cam.
Anyway let me know what you think. I assume it's a budget build stock type 8.5:1 or so.
I ultimately plan on building a 383 stroker blown with a Weiand 142 (Already have lying around
). But due to funds I'm considering running this once the chassis and body are all back together just to get it down the street since it's been 12 years+. If it is low compression I'm thinking about putting my future heads (probably AFR 195s) on it with the Weiand at low boost and just having some fun. If it last a little great, if not then rush on the real motor.
