I'm waiting to get more pics of undercarriage and interior. Seems complete except interior needs redone and the paint is a little worn. 350 4 speed. Notice anything off hand that should bring concern?

Hard top included and new soft top. Trying to arrange test drive with owner so I will update when I get that worked out. That gap in the hood where it meets the bumper is that normal or just needs adjustment?

Maybe just needs adjustment. It looks a slightly darker shade of red in the head-on shot. Could be an aftermarket add-on, explaining the fit. Check to see if it (or anything else on the car) is a reproduction, or OEM.
Btw, asking price?

Not to bad looking car from the pictures. The exhaust is different. Cant tell for sure but the interior looks to be a two tone. Looks like an early 70.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Another vote for it being a repop hood due to the poor fit and lack of chrome "vents" that an OEM unit would have. Also, the fit of the passenger side muffler looks like it would be impossible to install the proper tip. Should probably check the entire exhaust system. Could just need some "tweeking" to make it fit better. Reverse lights won't do much good with those bubble lenses.

Hi cmb,
It's a nice looking convertible from a distance.
I'd be concerned about, and check-out very carefully, the front body on the car. The hood, headlights, bumpers, and grills, don't appear to fit very well.
This may mean the car was hit hard, OR maybe the car just wasn't put back together with much skill and attention to detail.
Your pictures don't show the other areas of the car that are important too... the birdcage, the engine compartment, the chassis.
For some reason I'm always concerned about 70-72 cars that don't have the side grills painted body color.
More Info?
Regards,
Alan

I highly recommend you see if a forum guy is close by to go take a look with you. Like Alan says, there is a lot going on with the front clip and it looks like it is sitting a little high in the front too.

As everyone has pointed out, there are somethings that are not correct. It depends what you are looking for restoration candidate or driver. Need pics of birdcage, engine, and chassis to make a good decision. I suspect it has been wrecked with the issues of alignment on the front end.

I'm with Alan on the side vents on the 70-72 cars...unpainted ones seem to correlate to all kinds of other problems, primarily a poor paint job (and that's close to one of the most expensive things a guy can do to a Corvette is paint it), and just a general lack of attention to detail. You can see this evidenced on the car in the fit of the front end, which has been apart, and lack of correct exhaust tips, and all the other small things the guys here have pointed out already. If you could unearth some chassis pics that would go a long way.

is that a true LT-1 car or base 350 car ? thats an LT-1 or Big Block hood not the standard 70 hood for 350/300hp or 350/350hp .. but, its not a big deal if you are looking for just a driver.. lot of people have gone to the high-rise hood to clear aftermarket manifolds ... the bad fit may be adjustable enough to correct ...looks pretty good tho. whats the asking price?

Hi fs,
Looking at the hood gap makes me think it won't be an easy 'adjustment' fix since it's high in the middle but a bit low at the sides.
My bet would be that there is a droopy front end which might be fixed with shims on the radiator support or the center front bumper horseshoe bracket.
But then there's the issue of the fit of the head light doors? Is the hood surround twisted?
The front bumper is high in the middle and low at the ends... so shimming the center front bumper horseshoe bracket to try to fix the hood fit, will likely make the bumper fit worse.
Then there's the fit of the grills to the bumperettes!? At least it looks like there are still 70 style grills on the car.
LOT of questionable areas in that picture.

Alan
