Default Vacuum question 79 vette

Just beginning to check out the engine compartment of this newly purchased 79 vette. Have the Chilton's book on it but am already stumped. Does anyone have a decent diagram/explanation of what function the connectors in this picture perform and where they connect? Wondering why the previous owner disconnected them.
Seems the total vacuum system in this car is not functional. Any tips on beginning a rebuild of the vacuum system?

1) throw the Chiltons away. It's useless.
2) better yet, burn it so no one else can use it.
3) buy an AIM, it shows all the real factory hook up, not generic garbage.

The assembly instruction manual shows all the various vacuum hoses where they connect, and the correct color codes.

You're going to want the AIM for more than just emissions hoses.

Thanks for the info guys. The diagrams will definitely help and I am about to order the AIMS book.
