Factory sidepipes perhaps...
i have a pair of didepipe mufflers, no covers just both mufflers...i am not positive but believe they are original...one of the headpipes from the muffler to the exhaust manifold is beat up some...looks like had a patch welded due to accident...years ago...should probably be snipped off and have new head pipe fabbed....the rest of the mufflers seem very solid and from photos i have seen, what i have found nonlinear...they do appear to be Chevy ones...worth anything? or just junk due to the damaged head pipe on one?
also did factory units haveany type of heat wrap on the mufflers? if so how was it attached to tmufflers?
thanks..just dont want to junk if they are indeed original and may have some value...

I would have thought more than $100 until a friend of mine came across an original set still in their boxes and couldn't sell them for $550. With used parts these days I find talk is one thing getting ppl to send $ is something quite different.

I believe the reason it's difficult to sell used production-line, or early service replacement, side exhaust pipes is that they're really only attractive to people with original side exhaust cars.... a small market.
Most everyone adding 69 exhaust to their car would rather have new ss or aluminized pipes.
Original pipes are a nice find for a few people!

Alan, good to hear from you. In an unrelated story, I finally got my Allen's exhaust up with the pipes and all.
Love it!!!

There really is nothing like the sound of the 69 side exhaust.
I'll never forget the first time I heard one.... I also can still remember the first time I heard a 69 Z-28 with chambered exhaust!
I think we knew immediately that Chevrolet wouldn't get away with either one for very long!
