Default Our 74' Big Block in progress.

I just wanted to put up the progress of our 74' big block stingray on here. This project has been ongoing for a couple of years and we'll be ready to roll out this spring to some shows.

Here's some current pictures.

Very nice. Alot of work! I'm not a fan of the gull-wing doors or the back window. But thats what makes going to shows interesting. You get to see ALL kinds of mods. Love the interior. Is she going to stay at that ride height? Or will it settle.

Looks good, when you see all of these projects coming together you can tell how much work and effort all of the members put in to accomplish their goals. I hope to join the ranks when I start on the 74 BB Vert soon.
Besides all of the changes that you made, what did you do to the engine, if anything? And what color are you going to paint and are you doing the paint yourself?
Maybe you can list all of the mods that you have done, would be interesting.

Did this car start out as a factory big block car?

I would like to know about your new hood.
I kinda put to much intake on my '73 454 and I need a taller hood.

I love the gull wing doors, not the rear window insert though, I'm going for the 72-73 rear window removable setup.
From the look of the jams, looks like purple is the color it's going to be (like mine).

How hard was it to install the gull-wing doors? where did you get the brackets, etc.
Would love to add that to mine.

Gull wing doors and side pipes...what a head turner.

Default A '74? Really?

Screamer,

Why do you say it's a '74? While the removable rear bumper is '74, the front one is '75 onwards, along with the front clip. Or was it a late '74 built '75? Or a real '74 with a '75 front clip? Just curious.

I have to admire you for your enterprise, but to be frank, I don't like most of the mods you've done. I don't like purple on any car, don't like the Lambo doors, the basically unproven rear suspension, the rear spoiler with a stock '74 bumper under it, the digital instruments, the rear window grille and the bonnet.

However, I LOVE the engine, the chrome on it and the seats. I like the way you've fitted the aerial, the chrome side pipes and the wheels.

I look forward to seeing the finished car and that might change my mind on some of the things I don't like. Please don't get upset at my criticism, I'm just telling you what I do and don't like. My tastes are different from yours and that's a good thing, otherwise we'd all be driving around in cars that looked exactly the same. And wouldn't that be boring???!!!

Regards from Down Under.

It's gettin' there, still a lot of little things to be added... this was taken 12 hours out of the booth, still loads of buffing to be done.

That is freakin beautiful !! If I was to add anything to it, it would be filling the rear wheel wells with a little bit more meat.

Did you make or buy the cowl cover? Is it a little tough getting the wiper arms on when they go through the cover like that?

Never mind. I should have done a search first. I found it at Ecklers.
