It is on the drivers side near the top. There will be a couple numbers. One of them should match the vin and the other tells you when it was made and what shift it was made. If the numbers dont match, the number on the passenger side should tell you with a little research what it came out of. And please, for the love of god, take your caps lock off. It's like talking to someone who just screams at you.
If my memory is correct, I think the numbers on my muncie were on the passenger side, where the main case and tail are joined, and its only a partial vin, like the last 6 or 8 or something like that.
The serial number is the VIN derivative, made with the same stamp that was used on your motor. It is on the side of the main case. I can't remember if it is driver or passenger side.
