Default struggling with interior color

Anyone out there have a 1971 with red interior? I have a black '71. Has saddle interior, but need door panels, carpet, center headliner on hard top and some others. Considering changing to red, but the tiny swatch that was sent me for carpet and seating hardly allows me to tell how this red would look with black vs. the current saddle. Pictures online seem to have color distortions.
Could use some helpful opinions.

personally black on saddle is the best color combo for a black exterior car for any make or model. it is just stunning. I believe its more rare then black on red

My 73 I put a red 71-72 leather custom interior, and I like it.

Given that '71s didnt come in black, it's hard to replicate this. Look for some pictures of black 68s and 69s with red interiors to get a feel for it, or 77 and later cars.

You might need to look at reds from different years to get a more accurate or complimentary idea. Different reds from different years are options.

I had a '69 roadster with red interior, and I found that the reds within the interior faded/ wore/ distorted at different rates due to sun exposure and different materials, which I found frustrating. Seemed like I had 5 reds inside the same car.

Blk/saddle is a classic look, but Ive found the lightest saddle looked the best. I had a black '77 with light saddle leather that I wasnt even shopping for, but I bought because it was so beautiful.

You could also consider a gray or silver interior, as you are not being constrained by stock here.

Here's a pic of my old custom '81 convertible conversion with stock 80-81 red interior. Looked nice but I got tired of it. Ill try to find a better pic.

Edit: my pictures from back then stink. (1991) Best shots of the door open with the new interior are blocked by World of Wheels models. I will say I have a pic of the car with the old used red interior and it looked terrible, and the new red interior popped, looking like blood red... so newness and uniformity matter.

PS: I love Sarge's above.

Hi af,
I found that Al Knock was very good about sending samples of the various materials in your desired color.
Maybe a phone call to them?
Regards,
Alan

I saw your edit about the new versus old red, but was your earlier comment that you got tired of it based on the new red, old red or both reds? One of my biggest concerns is if I would get tired of the red even though it isn't an everyday driver car.

I just got tired of the black/red combo. Its very strong. But understand, I've bought 16 Corvettes simply because I get tired of stuff, so consider the source. It's a personal call.
