Default 1969 interior restoration pics

Just thought i'd share how my progress is going:

Original:

Stripped:

Fiberglass repair:

What does this #78 mean? Found on passenger side floor and bulkhead. I'm guessing production number for the day??

I am using a ceramic based heat/sound insulator which is what you see that's tan.

Next up, rear wire loom, correct jute insulator, carpet, and restored seats! Painting and repairing all plastic panels myself. More pics as I go :-)

Yea, the number 78 is the production (assembly line)number for your car. They where run up to 500 the started over.
Your doing a great job.

Ah yes that sounds familiar! Any idea what the numbers mean on the rear clip? (under rear window storage compartment)

Line build sequence number, most likely.

Great looking work! Keep it up and keep us updated; fun to see the progress.

Mine is red, such a fun project. Hopefully by spring they'll both be ready to go!

Whaaaaat is this? I didn't have one in my 69. I know you said rear defogger but I can't see how that would be very effective with the mounting location. Curious now.

Job Number. It identified your car up to the point where the trim tag and VIN plate were installed.

It may or may not be related to your VIN. Subtract 500 from the last digits of your VIN and see if you get 78. This works for some model years and does not work for others.

78 could also show up on the passenger's toe kick under the hood and on the back side of the rear bulkhead in front of the fuel tank.

Build sheets usually have the job number penciled on them.

There's a hose I took off already that runs to the rear side panel where there is a single vent insert. I believe there were only 2400 or so of these in 69.

Very interesting. My last digits are 2,764 so didn't apply but still neat. I found 78 on passenger toe board and behind passenger seat on bulk head. Haven't found a build sheet :/
