Can you get the window low enough to be out of the way?

I just pulled mine out of my 69 to check for you. Quick answer is; no you do not have to remove the window (provided the yours is the same). There are 2 small screws (one in the rear and one about a third of the way back from the front). The center and front are held in place with compression clips that will just pop loose with a flat tipped screwdriver. You will have to remove the door panel though.

Terry

After the door panel is removed, there are 2 felt covered bumpers or window stabilizwers that can be loosened and moved to allow additional movement of the window.

Hi MrJ,
Terry may well be right but I believe it also has to do with where the bottom 'stops' in the window tracks are set which limits how low the top of the glass goes.
With the interior door trim panel off it's easy to let the 'stops' drop to allow access to the window felt screws.
Regards,
Alan

When you start putting the felts in and get mad because they wont stay in with the "correct" push in retainers. Readjust your felts and the stainless trim then try it again. Be patient and try it a couple of times. If it doesn't work take a break and come back later and try it again.

While on your break you might decide that since those retainers are a POS it would be a real easy thing to drill and install a couple of #6 button head screws . Of course you would decide to use stainless screws because just a little bit of rust drives you up a wall. When you are drilling those holes USE A DRILL STOP!!!!!!! Get a metal one from any place, then tape it in place and if your drill has a way to attach an outer stop do that too. They guy at the body shop is a real nice guy but he will still charge you to fix a #40 hole in your door and then respray that whole door. That three part color system you chose for your car can't be touched up gotta respray panels. Of course it will hit your wifes facebook page and all of your friends will come tease you because you know better than drill without a stop. Did I metion that you should USE A DRILL STOP.
