Thanks... much appreciated. But I could pick apart my old car too. It's going to be very difficult to find a good replacement. Time is on my side. I think this color scheme is very nice and have never seen it before.
The last Mecum in Houston had a black 69 L71 come across with gunmetal interior....the announcers were gushing over it...and it did look REALLY good. Didnt sell at 57K
Wow, this is the color combo that I would have switched to when I was shopping for my triple black '69. I chose a similar color combo coupe as a Pick Winner at Carlisle a couple years ago. Simply gorgeous, just made for the shark lines.
I love that the smog is there. Absolutely terrible dropping the ball on the rear valance for the sidepipes addition. There some money there to fix properly. Also, ad says interior is original, but headrest design is wrong.
Hm.. looks like they must have changed the color from green. But they are claiming 416 is gunmetal. Your link says green. I guess they did not like the silver on green - a pretty unusual combination. I think I'd like to see that.
My 69' coupe rolled off the assembly line with the Cortez Silver / Gunmetal combo. Unfortunately, one of the POs decided red with a black interior was easier to sell-
Red and black never goes out of style but I kinda wish they would have left it the original color(s).
This is the first one I've seen with this combo- I like it!

The current black book lists code 416 as gunmetal and only available on white, black, and silver exteriors.
427 is green vinyl and 428 is green leather. I think Roger's site is incorrect.

Still, nice nice car.
When I saw the rear valance,
Ok so educate me on the head rest please Sir. Is it the stiching? Cause it looks to be to up to date, also didnt think there was any stiching on the 69 headrest.

Correct, there should be no stitching. They should have a molded look. Stitched restorations are common because they are much easier.
