Default Interior work questions for help !!

I pulled my seat and carpet out and now I need to put in new carpet. Where is the most trustworthy place to buy it from and what about the sound deadener that I've read about what's the best thing to do for that. I've heard that there are some real good ways to get sound and heat relief with stuff from Lowe's or Home Depot any one tried any of the stuff from either of them? It's supposed to be a lot cheaper.
Thanks for any help
Johnny

Willcox and Corvette Central are good places for carpet. Willcox has forum specials all the time so they are cheaper and it is the same carpet.

As for the sound deadner/heat relief, use the thin silver duct insulation that is sold at Lowes and homedepot. It comes in rolls about 16inches wide and maybe 8 foot long. about 1/4 inch thick. It is the greatest thing since sliced bread and really works. Get some of the silver aluminum tape to do the seams. The insulation is sticky on one side so it forms right to the bottom of the car (inside of course) I used 4 rolls to do the whole interior of my car and door panels.

this is the name of the product. Frost King E/O 12 in. x 15 ft. Self-Stick Foam/Foil Duct Insulation at home depot.

I got my carpet from Willcox and it fit right in very minimal trimming. It came with front and rear carpet, back of the seats, transmission tunnel, front kick panels, rear speaker panels. I used some contact cement to hold some places down, just the spray stuff. Pretty easy and a huge improvement. No more hot feet either!

Does the duct insulation work for sound surpression too? I've heard of a few guys using Peel and Seal for sound deadener. It's an asphalt based roofing material.

Here's a guy that used Reflectix for insulation.

My car is pretty loud (exhaust), it really didn't help much that I could tell. The reflectix was kinda bulky and the carpet did't go down good for me that is why is used the foam stuff. It keeps the heat out though.

I think the "best" stuff is dynomat but I hadn't heard of it until after I did my carpet. Not sure on the price of that though.

Hold on to your original carpet. You will want to use it as a template for sizing and cutting the new carpet.

What works best under the car, I love the sound of the headers but they get old after a while and it would be nice to hear the radio sometimes.
Thanks

I put the stage II exhaust on my 72 with Headman ceramic coated headers. I used this kit..

And I ran the 73 exhaust hangers.

If you want to hear it.. I have a video on the site for that too..
