I just finished an engine, transmission, and differential swap-out on my 73 coupe. Everything seems normal but when I coast to a stop I hear a light whine coming from the rear end. Anyone out there have any advice or solution.
Besides the oil you installed, you have to add the GM additive for posi traction rear ends. It is available at any GM dealer in 4oz bottles for about $12. Take about at least 4 oz of oil from the rear end, then add the additive. Refill the rear end with oil until it overflows. Go to a large parking lot and drive in tight figure 8's. do about 12 of them to work the additive into the clutches.
Let us know how this turns out.

There are gear lubes meant for posi rear ends that already contain the additive. It sounds like that's what he used.
The sound he describes is not coming from the clutches. Possibly a set up issue.

Sounds like pinion depth problem. Probably have to pull the differential and check the gear contact. White grease on the ring gear teeth, rotate the assembly manually and check the contact pattern on the front and back gear faces. It should be pretty close to the middle of the teeth front to back and end to end. It that checks out, check the side bearing pre-load.
I assume you used new u-joints and didn't set them too tight...
