Default Buyer beware!!!!

I've had a couple of incidents lately I'd thought I'd just share.

Replaced motor for the drivers side window. Anyone who has done this knows it's kind of a mini PITA. Anyway, got the motor in and it worked ok for a day or so and then started making a noise and the window was working jerky.

To make a long story short, and after dismantling the door a couple of times, I isolated the issue to the clutch behind the drive gear.

Now all this was brand new (made in China) and the gear plate was not locking into the big spring.

After numerous attempts to fix it so it work properly, I ended up welding the plate to the ends of the shock spring. It ha worked perfectly for a week now and the spring absorbs the shock and all is well in the kingdom.

I suppose that I could have tried to return the motor (cost upwards of $100.00 with the gear) and such but I got possessed with fixing it.

I also bought a complete light bulb kit (made in china). I discovered (after dismantiling the dash several times) that 5 of the new little bulbs for the instrument/speedo cluster were no good.

The watchword for me from now on is to check, recheck, and check again any of these aftermarket replacement parts. Especially from China.
