Others here are running 4.5 backspacing. Rear shouldn't be a problem, front may hit the framerails on full steering lock depending on tire size. Search the C3 forums for Boss 338. Another popular wheel with 4.5 backspacing. You can decide if you like the look or not. It does pull the wheel/tire away from the fender lip a bit.
