Is Lukes car the one that you were describing? Iwould have bought it last week if it had A/C. That was a very good buy for a real red/red 70 4 speed convertible.
Drive it over when you get a chance.
Congrats again
Jay
Yes It was I have it at home Actually is a Base 300 HP car The ribbed Valve covers fooled me into thinking it was a 350 HP car I will be doing a full blown resto on it ASAP Hope Dennis the painter next door to Danny's place can give me a good price on Paint

Bill that will be a beautiful car when you are done. I am sure that Alan will help you with the restoration. Your 66 came out so nice that I have high expectations for this one. The paint work is always the unknown but I am sure that Dennis will work with you. Post some pictures of the car now for everyone to see.
If the engine and interior have been neglected, I can only imagine what condition the head light and wiper doors are in . . . or suspension parts for that matter. I bought a '70 red driver 4-speed with a great working race ready 350/400 HP with all the goodies including the '69 premium side exhaust. Everything works but the clock. I paid $20k. The paint is a clear 5 footer, red with red hardtop. New seat upholstery, convert top, and some misc hardware added another $4k, which gets me to about what the car is worth presently. It's not a numbers car, but fits my wallet, and offers what "I" was interested in and wanted to spend. And engine and interior for your subject car plus some assumed misc basics could add an easy $12k, and you'll basically have a $22k ride at best. So the $10k I read earlier sounds pretty darn right for this venture.

Thank you
Not happening -I've already ordered 6K worth of interior/mechanical parts If I wanted a driver I can see that the 12K limit as correct. However frame resto/paint/ will bump it up a notch or 2 I have set a budget of 17K not including the price I paid of 16K for this numbers matching Vert I am 64 and feel this will be my "last" project which I tell my wife (LOL) every time I find a Vette to restore
$33k seems like a good number to target for a finish line on an all numbers, frame off Vette, which should put it on the market easily above what you have in it. You may have just overlooked this but, a quick look at the tach RPM's tells the difference between the 350 and the 300, but then again even the tach can be upgraded. The safest Vette investment to me is the C3 1970 Vintage, given the #'s built and being the last true performance year for the C3. 71' and up are the neutered version which still demands respect, but saying it with your pinky in the air (Sorry '71+'ers). "Good Luck Bill" and enjoy the hands-on adventure in your "last year for performance" C3.
Good Morning Jay
Thanks for the tip. Just purchased it. Luke is a great guy Drove over there yesterday after work in the rain(did not want to miss out) Picked it up for 16K
I would like to thank Everyone on the forum
Bill
At Bill's request, I'm posting photos of his new-to-him 70 convertible.
Very nice looking ride Bill. You did extremely well on this from what I've seen and read. Now you get to know your ride intimately, with hands on buddy. I'd lay off on anything that jazzes it up or gives it what some like to say "a personal touch", but hey, it's your ride. Although I do like the add on look and rumble of the '69 optional side exhaust . . . but that's me. If you have a good numbers car, keeping it that was is a smart move.
