For me … it’s a classic convertible, occasional pleasure vehicle. My ultimate goal is to Never put the top up, as that defeats the purpose and destroys the pleasure of the fine convertible machine. Grocery store … might happen if one of us sits in the car while the other goes in to retrieve the steaks and wine (OK beer for me). Movies … we’re makin’ our own movie in this sexy ride … with the top down! Work … Never in this sweet baby … work parking lot is not deserving of such a fine ride. Occasional lunch or dinner in summertime … parallel parking only, absolute arid weather report, typically patio dining with car in eyesight, nothing worth stealing in the cockpit, top stays down.

Honestly, the top on a C3 is a pain the keister to raise and lower, compared to the automatic top in many other convertibles. Drive 5 miles with the top up and look at the immediate scuffmarks from the weatherstrip that require buffing back out. Why bother with the hassle. Just leave that rag top where it belongs … behind the seat.

Love the MGA Roadster ... My first car and first restoration was a 1959 that my brother still owns. My what a money pit though.

Mine was the last year (1962); a 1600 MKII. Aluminum doors, plywood floors, two 6-volt batteries, Lucas electrics, two untunable cabs, etc. Trouble looking for a place to happen. But I really enjoyed it!
