Hey guys, I need some help finding a replacement parts for my fathers 1971 Corvette. He removed the whole interior and has been working on restoring the car. Anyways he just got the seats finished up, but misplaced a few parts. I was able to find them shims he is missing, but I cannot find a part number on the bolts. These are where the seat back release latch mount into the bottom of the seat.
Unless you require the OE style bolt head, and the captive washer, you can get 1/4-20 bolts at The Orange Box, The Blue Box, or any auto parts store. If you want to replace them with original bolts place an ad using that photo in the parts for sale/wanted section here. Someone has a set in their bolt box... I looked and I do not or I would offer to mail them to you gratis.
Call some of the vendors. For bolts and things I like Zip Corvette. They're professional, available, and their shipping is highly reasonable and fast. Ive had some luck with Willcox but recently called them with a question and never heard back from them again. I also like Full Throttle Corvette here in Atlanta. Those bolts should be available if not individually, then in a kit of some sort.
Thanks for the help guys. I'm gonna look locally for some 1/4x20 to use. When we come across the OE Style we can always replace them.
I don't have any recent pictures of it since we removed the interior. Here are a few shots I do have of the car. These are back from 2010 after the exterior work was finished. Its been a long project, but it is getting there.
If you can wait till mid march, go to the Corvette Expo in Sevierville, Tenn. There are always many vendors and tons of old parts at reasonable prices. I keep a list of oddball parts that I need and usually find everything at the Expo. Check out the Corvette Expo web site for info. Also great mountain driving!!!!!!
Hi JS,
The car really looks TERRIFIC! It appears to be very nicely done!!!
How about some more pictures when you get a chance.
It's always fun to see what people are doing.
Regards,
Alan

Alan,
I'll get more photos of his car once I have a chance. Right now its covered in the garage, and the interior is gutted. The seats were just reupholstered which is why I was looking for these small parts. He is picking them up this week, so I'll post those up. He has a bunch of stuff to get into the car come spring.
I do have a album of the body work progress that I can upload, once I located it.
