I do not know. The only way to find out is to send an inquiry about it, which I did. I have not heard back yet. Oh hell enough of this. Let me just link it to ya already. If someone buys it before me it will be just my luck.
Take a gander and here is more information about the car. I will post the link below. I had a fun few posts with ya, but I do like to take this seriously at times. I do appreciate yours and everyone elses help.
I look at it this way. I certainly would rather have a color that was not my first choice that was a true and correct corvette, rather than some other car that had a color that I liked that was suspect. (like that red one). I so want a 71 big block roadster and been looking for so long. But I have NEVER ever considered a white car, until now.
Well I looked over the ad and I think that you are looking at an exceptional car as compared to others. The car sits right and that is unusual for cars that have had a body off done to them. I love the White with the tan interior and the Black vinyl hardtop. The interior and engine compartment are way better than average and being the original to the car drivetrain is a huge plus. I think that the car in White sets it apart from most other cars and lt would be a preffered color for me. At the asking price of 39,900.00 I think you would be foolish to let that car get away. I would set up someone who knows these cars to do an inspection right away because that car is going to sell. Based on a good inspection report I think you need to be prepared to buy it immediately.
Good luck to you and I hope that this car ends your search.

Thanks for taking a look. It does look clean. But they all have when I first look at them. I did send a request for more info. I am starting to like the white. It does look like this car has been on sale for quite some time though. It has an ad on that used corvettes for sale site that was posted several months ago. Red flag perhaps??????

No I do not think that it is a red flag. I just believe that there are more cars for sale than there are buyers. Not everybody is looking for a BB either. You are though and this appears to be one that I would definetly have inspected. It might not be the one either but then again it could be.

Okay, well I sent in a inquiry to see if it is indeed still available, and to see if there is any documentation with the car (eg. build sheet and protecto plate). I take it if the car had a frame off restore they pulled off the tank sticker.
I'm gonna start here with the documentation but it was in the END on that red one the documents ended up being bogus. We will see what happens.
Not necessarily. Some folks photograph them for record purposes and leave them on the tank.
Good point....but I want to know that there is documentation though, and that it is not fradulent.
By the way nothing yet from the seller. You can't buy a corvette if the seller doesn't answer you. Hmmmmm.... It has been a couple of days and yes I did try a second time to contact them. Now that is a red flag!!!!!!!!!
I sent another message from used corvettes for sale site. I identified i also sent messages from other site and left my phone number on all sites. It bugs the heck out of me when you advertise something on the internet and you don't get back to them in at least two business days.
Heck when I sold my Z06 I got calls and messages and returned them in less than an hour. I am not even in the corvette business. This is a corvette finding service. They should have their ducks in a row. Maybe they are out of town or have something else going on. I don't know, but whatever. Maybe I need to be more reasonable. Nothing more I can do, but wait I guess.

I understand the desire for factory documentation. I would love to have some for my 68 convertible, but the paperwork is long gone. If absence of documentation is a deal breaker for you, stick to that. Be aware there are some very nice, original C3s with no factory documentation.

Yeah, I really want documentation, especially if they are asking a lot of money for the car (top dollar).
I do understand there are original C3s with no factory documentation. But, I like this one as an investment vehicle rather than a daily driver. I think more money is to be made over time having a documented C3 rather than one that doesn't. Both will appreciate in value, but the documented one more.
I was really hoping to hear back about the white 1971 454. I have sent messages for the past few days with no return. I left my email, my phone number, etc. Nothing!!!!!!!! I asked a simple question about the car for starters. But no response.
Now it is becoming apparent to me why this car hasn't sold in months. If I were the consignee and I got wind that someone was asking about my car for days and never followed up with them i would be so ticked off. In fact, I would pull my car off their site. Ridiculous. Maybe they will still be a response, but the customer service stinks!!!!!!!

WOW! I just ran across this one. This one in not documented. I already know this. But man, is she pretty. The asking price is much lower than one you get if it were documented.
Let's say it is not documented, is a RESALE red, but has the original engine block in it what would be the reasonable pricing for this corvette if it were in good working order? This one I love the look. I am one of the few that really like the luggage rack on the rear as well. Maybe I can SAVE a lot of money and my mind by just going for something that looks great, fun, and works, and IS the year I like!!!!!!!
A white Vette is cool, but I'm not too keen on a vinyl hardtop, automatics, or reduced performance (In any CI) . . . but that's me. With documentation credibility tainted, like all have said already, the value diminishes at a considerable rate. So, to go back to like or dislike, that's a personal call. I would place a none-documented 1971 Vette at slightly under a 1970 (Due to govenment neutering the Vette starting in '71) . . . if a 10 footer and good inside/out with everthing working as it should, I would put it at $26k. Now, start looking at what isn't a 10 footer, what isn't good inside/out, and specific things not working as they should. Assign a deduct to the $26k to get the Vette "good" and driveable. Remember, resell value of an automatic is generally less that of a 4-speed. The same with a 4-speed would suggest $28k. The neutered big block is still a plus over a neutered 350.
The red one is "hot" . . . simply love red on a Vette. Even if the documentation is missing or some parts don't carry the proper #'s, the Vette looks seriously worthy to own, show, and tool around in. From the big block to the 4-speed to all the ammentities, this one crys out "BUY ME . . . PLEASE". I would negotiate down to $33 or 34k if you can, but this one warrants the $36k~ in red/black/big block and 4-speed alone. Now the question is, does the "actual" car appearance match the pictures? Or are these pre-pictures and post appearance? The pictures actually appear too good to be true for even $36k . . . and you know what they say about that, right? I would have to touch and feel this sweetheart to get into a serious relationship over this internet hookup. Some college football players have fallen into relatively less predicaments using the internet. Keep that spark alive and reaching out . . but be cautious on buying without seeing, touching and feeling . . . and certainly driving. Enjoy the hunt!
