There is a fun subject. There really would be no way to know for sure, but one could guess that there is a high probability that it is less than 3494.
Im sure quite a few were wrecked, stolen, etc, but wonder how many went into storage with the idea that the car would be worth something someday due to its classification as the last of the big blocks etc. Seems that everytime I go on ebay there are like 3 of these cars up for auction on any given day.
As a funny sidenote, more inline with what Mike Ward mentioned about figures for coupe vs convertible... Within the past year I got into a "discussion" with a jackass on youtube that thinks his 74 LS4 m21 car is approximately one of 150 cars made with the BBC and 4speed... tried to advise him that there are no figures regarding the breakdown of these combinations. As he deleted my comments, I can only hope he reads this
