Default Budget Custom Interior Redo

Just completed a custom redo of the interior.
I am going resto-mod so you NCRS folks please don't send me hate mail.
Have less than $700 in it.
Bought bulk automotive carpet and sewed the edging on with the wifes sewing machine using red thread. Covered all the hard trim parts with black microsuede headliner material. Made new door panel inserts from the same material and red stitching and glued them on with high temp spray adhesive. I resprayed the rest of the door panel and dash with black vinyl dye. Bought new racing seats on EBay with black vinyl , microsuede inserts and red stitching $230 w/shipping. Seats are a very tight fit and sit a little higher than stock but otherwise nice, would not recommend if you are taller than 5'9". Ordered floor mats with red serging for front and back $89 from MAmotorworks. Bought black steering wheel with red stitching on Ebay for $35, the hub required redrilling and notching but fit great and retains my telescopic lock.
Next project will be to completely remove the dash and console and factory A/C system and build a custom dash and console with a red digital gage panel from Intelitronics, a 7" touch screen bluetooth receiver, Vintage Air underdash A/c, Heat, Defrost unit with 4 **** black billet controls, and four round vents. I have red led lit push buttons for the window and mirror switches.
This will wait, I don't want to miss out on some nice spring driving weather in Texas.

Have any in progress pictures? I would like to something similar when I get to my interior. Replacement parts are too expensive, and I don't think I have a single interior piece without a few cracks.

Looks great! I love the black suede/red stitching.
One word of advise... I did a few interior parts in micro suede and after a year in the sun it faded to a purple color. I bit the bullet and bought some Alcantara (automotive grade micro suede) to re-do it. Unfortunately my seats are micro suede so I still have to worry about those. Tinted windshield and side windows should help with that though

Thanks for the heads up on the material. We'll see how it holds up. Spends most of the time in the garage and the windows are tinted but hardly ever up. the headliner material is heavy fabric over foam and is supposed to be high quality automotive grade. I got it from an auto upholstery shop as left overs and remnants, had just enough to do what I needed.

When you say "tight", how tight are we talking when it comes to the seats, I am 5'8"?
Do you have a link for the vendor (ebay ad)? I am looking into all options for seats right now as refinishing the originals, doesn't appeal to me.

Nice job, I am in the midst of working my interior on a budget as well, I hope it turns out half as good as yours!

The seats are right up against the center tunnel and side frame and the back is nearly touching the side of the roof near the seatbelt trim. But they fit. I used the factory power set up on the drivers side and the factory slide on passengers side. The slide s that came required making a bracket to mount to the floor. I did have to make an adapter to mount the seats to the factory slides using a 1.5" x 1/8 steel bar with four holes drilled. The seats I bought do recline and flip forward so you can access the storage compartments and battery. Many do not flip forward and you have to ask to find out. Would be a real pain if they didnt in the Vette.
If you search Ebay for racing seats you will find lots of options. Mine are 21" wide which is the max for the C3. There are some narrower and lighter ones out there but it all depends on how fat your wallet is.
The Ebay Store I bought from is K2motor.

I had those exact seats in my 2000 Honda Prelude! They do a damn good job keeping you planted for the $.

I personally think it looks great!!! Outstanding job, especially for under $700... Think my door panels will cost more than that ;-(

Exactly! I put a set in an old Jeep CJ-7 that I had years ago. Great seats! No more sliding out on rough terrain.
