68 corvette 283?

does anyone know if any 68 corvettes came out with a 283 engine

Greetings from Long Branch NJ,Americas first seashore resort and 7 time US summer capital....Yeah mine....no not really but after I blew the 327-350 horse in my '68 coupe way back when, I replaced it temporarily with a 307....still got me where i wanted to go until I went big block....rebuilt the 327 and by the way a 283 is waiting patiently in the garage to go into something....

No 283s came in 1968 corvettes. The only small block you could get was the 327.

IIRC, the 283s, as OE, were phased out at the end of the 1961 model year.

No. Last use of the 283 in a Corvette was 1961. The standard small block for the 68s was the 327.

Hey with temps in the 50's this weekend after Fridays snow....spring and summer are on the way....Long Branch Saloon Dodge City Kansas the home of Miss Kitty,Matt,Doc Chester and Festus....named afer Long Branch NJ.....i will look for your '61 next time I come up in my 70.
