I have a dumb question...I recently purchased a new center gauge console for my 76. It has two holes in the front...there are two small bolts that come down from the gauge cluster. Trouble is they do not come close to lining up width wise. Are the supposed to? My old one just has two notches in the front......I can't make this look right! When I try to put it in and line it up you see a large gap at the front....any help would be appreciated
You may want to return your new console. Are you certain they sent you the correct one?
I have been going back and forth with Wilcox and corvette America The guy at CA thinks the center console support ties it all together. Of course I can't find it! I had this car stripped to the frame and for some reason this interior fights me more then anything!
After blowing up your pictures I discovered you don’t have the shift console forward bracket mounted to the front of the console and without this the bezel will not mount to the console.
The studs on the dash bezel do not go into the holes on the front edge of the shift console they go in the slots created by the bracket when installed. The holes are for the rivets that hold the bracket.
And I hope you realize that had you sent me the picture I requested I would have figured this out four days ago!
