I know where all the body mounts are located, but what supports the nose on an '81? I need to adjust mine up on the right side a little so it's even with the left side. I'm thinking a mount may be sagging a little on that side.
Thanks guys I'll check the AIM for the picture. Is there any adjustment in these brackets?
A little bit. The mounting holes on the angle brackets are oversize, and the washers as well, so that you can move them around some.
After I changed out my body mounts, I was wondering. The factory mounts the body to the frame with rubber in eight places. Why solid mount the two radiator support brackets? Won't that be an avenue for Noise, Vibration and Harshness?
So I got some front shock absorber bushings and longer bolts, to "shock mount" the radiator support, using the stock brackets. I got bolts whose unthreaded shank was just long enough to slightly compress the rubber bushings when fully tightened. One bushing was placed on top, between the frame and bracket, and one under the bracket.
According to the completely unscientific seat of my pants, it helped cut down slightly on the NVH. I am calling it a sucessful experiment.

That's a good idea. adding the rubber mounts and a couple of shims may raise the nose enough to accomplish what I'm trying to do. I only need to go up about 3/8" on the right side
So how long has you had this lean to the right ? I have herd if you put a TV out with the car and run Bill Mayer from HBO for 24 hours the car may fix it self with the left leaning broadcast directed at the car. BUT If the lean is ultra right your gonna have to get Michael Moore to help ya.
Everything in my household leans to the right. LOL
So today I looked at the car to see what I could do to raise the right side up some. I noticed that these 4 bolts for the bumper support weren't as tight as they should be. I loosened them a little more, then with a block of wood on a jack I jacked up the bumper support and tightened the bolts. after a quick drive around the block I measured from the floor to the bottom of the fenders and it's exactly 26 7/8" on both sides. success!!
