I think the clutch on my fan is weak, I have another fan and clutch I can use but my question is the fan I have has a small square notch cut in each blade and the one on my car now dosen`t does anyone know the difference? Thanks Skip
If it is a notch with a tang on the top that is a BB fan for 73. The ones without the notch and tang work just as well. Transfer your fan to a new clutch. Original was fluid, replacements are themo, BTW
I would not want to use a fan with 'notches' in every blade (or in ANY blade, for that matter). Notches mean 'stress risers'; and that means that the blades are weakest at those areas.
Ever see a car where the fan blew apart from fatique failure? No? Then don't use a fan with 'notches' in the blades.

These notches are not made by bubba these are factory made small square notches in the trailing edge of each blade.
