I was looking at replacing the shocks on my 68, they aren't original someones replaced them before, but I was looking at the KYB Gas Adjust didn't know if anyone was using them or had any input. I was also looking at Bilstein's and wondered what people thought there aswell. I see Bilstein has 2 different selections, I think a Heavy Duty and a Sport. Open to other brands also. Thanks
I have Monroe Sensatrac and they do a pretty good job. Reading other threads, I think everyone w/ Bilsteins on their cars love them and they make a huge difference. Think KYB's would be good also. If I had 350-400, I'd put on the Bilsteins and be set.
I have always run KYB's in my Camaros now have them in the Corvette as I got all 4 in a parts buy....i also have Bilstiens...which are part of the suspension kit I bought
I heard lots of good things about the Bilstein Sport Shocks.
I already bought a set from Ecklers, but will not be putting them on until after June when I am taking my 68 to Bloomington Gold to try to get Survivor Certification.
I think my 68 has the Original Shocks, so I may look into getting them Rebuilt instead of Installing my Bilsteins...???...
Monroe or Delco are fine for a regular stock cruiser. KYB are a step up. Bilsteins are over the top unless you will be going into situations where you need the additional control they offer (auto crossing, road course, slalom, etc).
