Hi everyone, I finally got my cruise to work, new transducer, vac lines, servo. everything works good, holds speed perfect, cruise cuts out when you press the brake and coast works great, just the resume wont kick back in. any ideas of what I might have missed?? thanks
I am just getting into the bad cruise on my car.
I have determined my transducer is bad.
there is also the servo, does the vacuum, that I don't know about yet.
I did find this thread http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c3-t...e-control.html
I still don't have a hard grasp so I can't say why your resume is not right.
Possible the contacts in the stalk are oxidized. Have you hooked a meter up to the connector under the dash to see if the circuit closes when you engage the switch?
If it doesn't, you might try to squirt some contact cleaner (from Radio Shack) in there to de-oxidize the brass strips. WD40 might work, but not as well. If it does, then you need to track it down at the xducer.

What kind of trouble is it to take the ducer out?
yea I have read that thread too when I first started trouble shooting why mine did not work, my ducer was bad from the get go, and all the vac lines where gone along with the servo and linkage, replaced the ducer first, cus I had no speedo anyway, so fig why not start there, that swapped out pretty easy just a tight fit and had to change the washer pump too so had the washer bottle out that helped with the room issue, got all the vac lines, got great vac there, and finally found the servo on here a few weeks ago, had to reseal it cus it had a few holes, but all in all a great find, could not find the right linkage anywhere so I used the old chev cruise fix all and used a adjustable pull chain to replace the linkage and low and behold it fired right up. I am thinking it might be in the blinker switch itself, but I have not had to play with that before so not sure if that is where the issue is, but I cant think of any other spots it could be other than in that switch

The slide switch (resume) in the stalk. Wait, what year is your car? It's in the stalk, right? First put your multimeter on the connector wherever it is at the base of the steering column and determine that the switch is in fact working or not. Then, if not, proceed to clean the contacts. Let's face it, those contacts hardly get used. Probably oxidized. Or if the switch is good, then you need to continue to de-bug downstream.
