I went out to the garage and checked for you--two unmolested 72 a/c cars. Both have green stickers. Both are dated right for the car.
454: vin 89xx. part number 5910797, 6" pulley. Car has October 15 trim tag, compressor is dated 091612 (September 16, 71, 2nd shift)
350: vin 131xx. Compressor no. 1131002 dated 012021. (January 20, 72, first shift). 5" pulley. Car has February 4 trim tag.
Both of the compressor part numbers agree with the NCRS judging guide chart for compressors.
Thank you so much. My Richard Prince book seems to be correct in this case. It stated that 1131002 is correct for 72's with 350ci.
Do you believe this will also be correct for a day 1 build date (August 16, 1971)?
Now I just need to find one. Soooooo, where do you live & do you keep your garage unlocked.

Thanks again for clearing this up for me.
I would guess correct that early as well.
Sure, door is unlocked. You can help. 350 car needs head gasket, 454 car needs dash wiring.
Cool. I'll bring my Harbor Freight tools and a big empty box for spare parts
If you get time this week, can you take a few close up pics of your SBC compressor please? And also the brackets if they are visible.
You can just PM them to me if you like.
Thanks in advance! I really appreciate it.
