Default 1972 corvette c3 door panels

My door panels do not stay snug to doors. The velcro like plastic fasteners will not stay together? The door panels are original to car not replacements . Any suggestions?
Thanks Tom.

Try these #483311 replacement velcro fasteners from Corvette central. I am sure others sell them as well. Zips # is I-1172 The clips are I-418

I have the same problem. I did replace the velcro fasteners and still the original door panels bow out a bit. I've looked at enough other cars that I now just accept the poor fit/finish as the best the original design can deliver.

Hi std,
My observation on the fit of original door panels is this.
The top of the panel has a heavy metal strip (that the inner glass seal is attached to) stapled to it.
The lip on that strip must be seated OVER the metal 'tabs' that stick up from the door frame across the length of it's top.
This seats the door panel so closely and firmly at the top that then the 2 lower clips (1 front and 1 rear) can be used to draw the bottom of the door panel tightly against the door frame.
Then the 'velcro' type fasteners have a chance to snap together and stay snapped.
NOT EASY to do!
Regards,
Alan
