72 Rear Emblem
I have a 72 Stingray. On the rear panel above the key hole, there are three small holes that look like they would hold an emblem. I have searched several pictures but cannot find any pictures that show an emblem on the rear panel. Any thoughts? I appreciate the help!

There were no emblems on the rear facia in 1972. There was a set of individual letters that spelled CORVETTE, there could have been an add-on from a local dealer... dealers back then actually used metal plates and drilled them on sometimes. Motion used to add some stuff back there. Some people think sticking various junk on the car is attractive. But stock? No.

"Back in the day" some dealers had metal badges rather than stickers, could be one of those that they put below the corvette letters.

I ordered a new truck a few years back and when it finally came in and I did a walk around the dealer had their emblems 2 places on the truck. I asked how much they were going to pay me to advertise and they said we can't do that... they took them off.... glad they are only decals now a days...
