Thanks for sharing the vette pics as for the white vette I have seen those in the past and they are not cheap. Those if I am not mistaken use a C5 as a donor car. I have also seen them done in a 63 body style. I like them old school looks and new school comforts.
this a car that parked next to me on the 2010 HRPT
I love that white one compared to any c4c5c6. there is something about the way it is done I just like it. It is a modern take on the original. I can see where the purist or the real hard core vette fan would see it as a trashed new Frankenvette though. Either way thanks for the pics
They made quite a few of these, i believe the company is out of Michigan, they are a 1953/2001 hybrid i think. Advanced Automotive Technology i believe is the company that did these.
I love the retro mod look, the best of all worlds. I have seen the mid year versions and if I had the money i would do it in a second. Take the modern ride and performance of a c4 or 5 and the fantastic look of the c1 or 2. What's not to like?
OK, I'll be in the minority and say I'm not a big fan.
There's just something that seems a little bit 'off' on those conversions.
Maybe it's because the proportions are wrong. Maybe it's the modern details (door handles, side mirrors etc.) on the classic body style. But whatever it is, these cars just dont seem to be comfortable in their own skin.
Met up with some friends last year to head to a car cruise:
Because of their reliability, these two guys drive everywhere. Probably put more miles in a week than most do in a month. IIRC on the 63 he supplied a 2010 Grandsport. It's what he wanted and great for him he had the $ to do it.
Me, too! I like the retro look with the new car power and ride. The only thing better is a true Restomod ... Totally stock looking on top with a new engine, chassis and suspension setup lurking underneath.
