1978 L82 all original 80k miles, thinking of buying first vette, he told me it was the silver anniversary model. Thanks for any input.
Needs paint, everything works.

welcome to the forum and the wonderful world of corvettes. without knowing any more particulars, my opinion on value would be in the 6-8K range...silver anniversary paint jobs are pretty expensive, but consider leaving it original...that would be my vote. unless it's really bad...

Thanks for info, I have a supercharged 1989 gt mustang that he wants to even trade. I've always been a vette fan

Take it to a shop put it on a lift and inspect the trailing arms bushings leaf springs, torque arms and sway bars in the back. Then the front suspension and look for rust. If you find any of these bad it is a walk away unless your mustang has equal problems. My car ran GREAT on test drive. Ran great for about a week after. Then on the way home from work all the silicone form a gasket the idiot poured into the bushing pockets fell out. Several thousand dollars in parts later I have a all new suspension and differential. Be careful best of luck hope it is a great car

Is it a silver car?
Otherwise any other color 78 is a 25 anniversary and not a silver anniversary.

Did you check? Paint code will be 13/07 for the B2Z cars; fifth character of the VIN will be a 4 for the L-82.

What do you think your Ford is worth?
