Default steering column connector placement/routing????

68 coupe, tele steering column, so obviously the wiring harness that comes from steering column needs slack to slide up and down. i have thumbed through AIM several times tonight, and do not see how/where the connector coming from main harness attaches. it is in semi-circle shape, so i assume it goes around the column somehow, then the connector from the steering column plugs into it. it does have a metal clip on the top side of the connector?? does anyone have drawing or can you explain how and where this connector is routed and attached underneath the left dash panel so as not to hang loose? thanks, Rick

anyone with a 68 or 69 car that has tele-steering that can take a look at the steering column harness and connector to see how it mounts? does it mount to lower column area? thanks, Rick

I know that 68s are unique but later years have a tab on the column that the connector attaches to. If all else fails get out the tie wraps.

There is a hole in the column mast tube on the top side near the firewall. I have seen this semi-circular connector attaching to the topside of the column there. I believe that the turn signal connector has a plastic pin attached to it...and when you connect the main dash wiring to it...it allows you to push the connector pin into this hole.

Rick, I have the standard 68 column, but it is almost identical to the tele one. The turn signal switch is the same one for both. I do not know if it is correct, but that metal clip in the center of the curved 68 turn signal connector, I have clipped to the edge of the steering column support. The edge is vertical and the clip clamps on it. I have mine on the outer LH side. I had to put a loop in my turn signal wire harness to keep it up and to give me room for the clutch pedal. Maybe one of the experts can help us out on this one. Lou.
