Upper ball joint question

Default Upper ball joint question
Once again thanks for the help!
I'm installing the upper ball joints on the 69 and have a question
The ball joint is installed from the top
But the rubber around the joint will not allow the base of the joint to sit flush. I'm guessing I need to pull the rubber boot down and shimmy the ball joint through the hole and pull the rubber boot back on?
Or is something wrong here? I got the suspension kit from ecklers.

Take the boot out of there and mount your joint flush with the A arm. Put the boot on before you install the joint into the spindle mount.

The boot should come off easily. Bolt the ball joint into the control arm and slip the boot back on.

My .02 for the install - get Poly boots if those aren't and you'll never have to worry about rubber failure.
