Default Advice before purchase

Hey guys, I am chasing down a 1970 350 4 speed. I have found one in a different state, and have not had the chance to go and see it in person. It belongs to a 68 year old doctor who has had it since the early 80's. He has sent me a ton of pictures, but not as detailed as I would like...lol

He claims it to be a numbers matching car, but has yet to send me a clear picture of the block pad stamp. From what I can gather, the car appears to be legit and has been looked after. It did under go a color change from Yellow to Red. I can live with that if we can agree on a price. It has clean black interior, no damage to body/bumpers etc, and everything works. 13600 miles. He claims it had 85,000 original miles when he purchased the car, and has since rolled over once.

So here is my question....... What do you guys think this car is worth?
I would like to have an educated ballpark number before I get on a plane to see it in person. I think I can get it in the $12K range

Complete speculation on any of our parts. Coupe or convertible?

...I think I can get it in the $12K range...
Have at it!

Good luck.

If it all checks out and everything is operational, no rust, etc, then it might be worth it. Chrome bumper car, with a four speed and decent interior... Does it have AC? That would be a plus too.

Coupe, non A/C car

Owner claims no rust or damage

I am open to speculation... would like to hear from the Corvette crowd what they think this car would sell for.

thanks

$12k is not a lot of money for that car, taking the pictures and statements at face value.

Hi C714,
From the pictures I'd say $12,000 is quite a good price.
It really depends on what the car shows in person though.
Regards,
Alan

To reach it's full $ potential it would really need to be yellow again. Do you want a yellow Corvette?

I ended up passing on the car. I agree with it needing a respray, and going back to yellow. I dont think I want to get into that project at the moment, but it did seem like a reasonable price.... The hunt continues
