Default Tune Up question, Coil

I'm in the middle of a complete tuneup but I ran into something odd.

The coil is threaded on the top and only will work with the existing coil to Dist wire which is in bad shape.

Its made by Blue Streak. I need to pickup a new one at Autozone or Oreilly Auto.

Can I use an ACCEL Super Stock with a stock Points distributor?

Or the MSD Ignition Blaster 2?

Without knowing your model year and engine size it is hard to research which parts are applicable. Accel and MSD do make Coils for your model year and they may not have them in stock.

You can fix your current wire or make a new one if this is the part you are talking about.

Sorry 1969 427. They have both in stock as well as some names I've never heard of.

Valuecraft/Duralast/BWD.

Also not that wire, but part of the spark plug kits coil wire.

Those are store brands you should go with the Accel for better performance. The store brands are less expensive and are thinner. Accel will be 8 to 8.5 MM thick. The only problem with MSD and Accel these days is they sell a universal set of wires and you have to build them. I looked up your car on Autozone and I would go with the Accel wire set. But you will need to cut them to fit and crimp the ends on each wire.

Yes you can use Accell wires with your stock Distribitor cap. I used to use Accel Wires in my 1972 El Camino and liked them. DId not mind building the wire set. If you do not have the tools than go with the most expensive set they have on the store brands.

When it comes time to do a tune up on my 1977 I am going to use all MSD components.
