Most car batteries have been on the self a while before you buy them. Put a charger on it as soon as you install it and make sure it's fully charged.

Good idea too is to use a battery tender. Keeps a battery up without boiling.

C-3 72 454 was my first Corvette. I no longer have it. We did not meet at Synergy as this was back in 1980.

Hey Bill - got my battery from Baychester Auto in the Bronx (Nick does all my work and is great with our cars - recently completed a frame off on his 69 BB).

So am I (from the Bronx - born 140th and Alexander but spent most of my years living in Pelham Pkwy/Morris Park Ave). Miss those years....and if the old Bronx still existed, my wife and I would never have left. I am 59 so I do remember the car hops at the Castle on Allerton Ave & Boston Post Rd. (right across the street from Gino's). Where were you from?

Do they differ in size? I always assumed the od was standard.

I'm sorry - I didn't mean to confuse you. By "od", I meant overall dimensions. I have always just ordered a battery based on the car I was placing it in.
