Quick Wheel Question
The only thing you need to be aware of is that the front leading edge of the front fender and the inside rear corner of the front fender at the rocker molding may be close. Look at a Pace Car to see what I'm refering to.Also sidewall height of the tire (aspect ratio - example 255/50-17) has more to do with ride quality than rim diameter. While a 255/50-16 may look different than a 255/50-17 I really doubt that there would be a noticable difference in ride quality since the sidewall height would be the same. Now if you went from a 255/60-15 to a 255/35-20 there is no doubt that you would feel a big difference in ride quality as one sidewall is 6" tall and the other is 3.5" tall. For the record in no way am I suggesting going with a 20" wheel but if you want to upgrade the handling of your Corvette 17s will sure help plus the tire choises are much better. Another thing to consider is the type of tire you decide on. A max performance summer tire is going to ride different than an all season touring tire. There is a lot more to choosing the right type of tire that meets you expectations than rim diameter. The Tire Rack has lots of information. I hope this helps.
Good luck in what ever you choose to do.
