Kinda new to the C3 side of the forum so forgive me if this is a dead horse post but, has anyone and/or how hard would it be to put a LS1 and a 6 speed into a 1980 Corvette?
Several people have done the LS swap into C3's in great detail here. Do a search and you should find a wealth of information. In fact, I believe there's a sticky on the C3 Tech forum.

If you are not worried about keeping the car original (I was not) it is a great combo. I am finishing up a LS1/richmond 6 swap into a 76 with the help of josh at custom image corvettes He has been great and can hook you up with parts, or if you just have questions, he has done a lot of these swaps and will help you out.
Nope, can't be done, no way no how.
Plug in the search and you will get more information than you can comprehend. Gordon has done a great job with his and several others on here have great info. Headers, steering, fuel delv etc. Its all there, you just need a month of reading to cover it all. Good luck.
I just picked up a 09 Pontiac G8 GXP with the 6.2L LS3 and M6 and now Ive decided that what is the point of building a 383 gen 1 sbc. This is what I want for my Corvette.
I did the 6.0, 6 speed, also Vintage Air, complete new harness. It's great having all the new stuff in an old car. Definitely a better choice than repowering with an old school SBC/BBC.
