Default Separating Panels

Hi,
This is my first post. I have gotten help from many past post. Thank You for the knowledge.

The hood that came with my 69 has a large whole where a hi-rise double carb setup is. I want to change it back to a single.

I purchased a hood off of craigslist with one of the hinge mounts missing, ripped right out. I can see that the hood it is two pieces can they be separated to repair it?

Any help is much appreciated.

seems like you're trying to use the top of one hood and the bottom of the other. a high guality heat gun and a wide blade [3 inch] thin chisel [1/8 inch], just work your way around. should separate fairly easy. most bonding joints on our chrome c3's come apart that way.

Separate, yes. Fairly easily, maybe not so much. Work slowly.

Default Separating Panels

Thank you terrys6t8roadster and Easy Mike. I will give that a try later today. I still have the high rise double carb setup. Who knows maybe some day when gas is .25 cents a gallon again I may use it. I guess I can always dream because I am certainly not moving to Saudi Arabia lol.

Is there any chance that anyone out there has a right side hinge mount??? Or should I be asking this question in the Parts/Wanted for sale?

Regards,
John
