Default I need to make a choice...

I have one too many projects and need to make a choice. My 80 is a decent car needing several things to make it a good driver. I've already done a lot to it and was prepared to do more until I found a great deal in a 77. Both need basically the same things done but the 80 looks better as it sits. Paint and interior work will do wonders for both. Mechanically, both are able to be driven. I have a great mild performance engine in the 80 with the original 350TH but it needs the usual suspension bushings, etc. The engine in the 77 is a stock 87 but with a 200R4. The suspension in the 77 is better than the 80 but still will need bushings, etc. soon. I have a fresh set of trailing arms that will fit either sitting on the shelf with a stash of other new parts as well as a set of performance rotors and ceramic pads. Brakes, shocks, and tires are new on both. The 80 is well equipped with Gymkhana, all power options, tilt/cruise, etc. with true duals but the 77 is similar without the F-41 or power locks and I've added true dual exhaust behind the headers to it also. If I keep the 77 I'll swap engines. Otherwise, I'll just sell the 77 and continue on the 80. The 80 is black on black and the 77 is a medium blue over blue. Which one would be more valuable? Not counting the engine, I think i could sell or part out either and come out ahead right now. I just really need to decide. What do you think?

Colors on the '80 are certainly better and far easier to sell. Do you like the blue on the '77? Would keeping it cause you to have to paint it?

I think the key is, which one do you like better? A '77 is a pretty different style inside and out from an '80. Most people clearly prefer one or the other. I know I would decide based on keeping the car I liked, not the car I could sell for the most.

Both will have to be painted eventually. Both will need interior work and basically for the same reasons but the 77 needs it worse for now to be presentable. So paint and interior wash each other out of the equation. I like them both a bunch for different reasons. Just trying to get my head around making a tough choice. Maybe I can talk my other half into keeping both? Big maybe...

No. You asked. You got an answer. Sell the 77 keep the 80 and cherry it out. It's a nicer car. Guess what is gonna happen if you keep both? You will never finish either one. Ask me how i know.

1980 is a much better looking car, and I agree, you can't beat black on black.

If both cars were completely done just they way you wanted them, which one would you prefer? Sell the other one and use the money to complete your favorite.

If it were my choice, I would sell the '77 and use the money to finish the '80. As you can see from my Avatar, I am biased.

I am leaning towards the 80 more and more. I have a lot of time and money in it now and just a few more things will make it roadworthy again. The 77 has the classic interior and small window but a black on black 80 is hard to beat...

I wish I could keep both. Drive the beater 77 every day and save the 80 for special occasions...
