Simple Tank Cleaning Method.
In resent Days , I was reading a forum Thread on a fellow that had experienced miss firing and general problems with running of his Vette.
During the post he had discovered water in the fuel due to either a big downpour ,or a wash job on the car.
Anyway, in the process, he got quite a bit of advise on how to get rid of the water , and most ideas were to remove and flush the tank .
So, whilst reading the thread I decided to duck out to the garage and check my tank only to be horrified to see water in the tank.

And quite a bit of debris, ( from what I could see).

Now, not wanting to remove the tank, I set about a easier method to remove the offending water and crap.
This is what I came up with , and it works a treat.

Firstly , I broke out my trusty Vacuum Brake bleeder.
Then down to the local "Bunnings" or in U.S Terms "Home Depot", and bought a length of rigid irrigation hose.
Now with a LED torch I was able to very accurately vacuum up all the water and particles I could see , and with a bit of guess work the corners I couldn't see.
( Notice I Tied the LED torch to a string, Don't want to drop that sucker into the tank.)
All in all, about 20 minutes , and a clean tank.
It would have to beat pulling it out.

Only because the way fuel is these days , the octane levels fall off so quickly when their left sitting around.
So I normally fill up on the way out for a burn.
Turn over in a big servo is usually pretty fresh.
