i have a rebuilt wiper motor on my 68' project with a new washer pump assembly, just now got to the point that i added washer fluid and had a chance to see if the wiper nozzles worked...the pump cycles as it should, and after trying it over and over, no fluid! does it need primed initially...i wouldn't think so (after all when you run out of fluid, you don't have to prime it each time) dunno.........thoughts? experience? thanks, Rick
Blow on the end of your hose that connects to the pump. I would guess the old rubber lines are deteriorated from the inside out and clogged shut. Had to replace the lines on my wife's ford the other day. The pump quit new pump still no spray replaced lines works great
I don't have experience with that particular problem, but I would probably prime a new pump. You could take a 2 foot length of tubing and hold it into a quart of water and have your kid hold it above the pump while you prime it.
i will try priming it....all of the rubber lines are brand new, but still not getting fluid up to the pump (line is clear, TRUST ME....i sucked on it,LOL) has anyone else tried a mouthful of washer fluid??
It needs primed. Pull the line out of the resovoir tank (leave other end attached to pump), fill it with fluid, get a compressor and blow some air in it (low pressure). If you pull off the lines that go to the wiper blades, you'll see fluid come out of the ports when the pump is full.
If you have micro-holes in the fluid lines, the pump fluid will drain back into the resorvoir tank if the car sits a long time without using the squirters.
