I've searched the web and can't figure it out. The stampings on the drivers side are 292141f3488, every other qjet I have starts with 70. I had this carb on an engine on my run stand and a customer identified it as a 1969 427 390hp manual trans carb. And that's what engine it was originally on, but the intake was a 1968 390hp. He didnt even know i had a 69 corvette. But I can't find any numbers on the carb that match my black book. I'm gathering all my unneeded parts to sell and don't want to sell something as something its not. Your help is appreciated.
I saw that site, and that is right where the stamps are. In the same place as every other qjet I've seen, it hasn't been ground off or anything either...I'm puzzled.
according to http://www.thecarburetorshop.com/Roc...etmarkings.htm in 1968 and 1969 the "70" was often omitted. You'd have a 29214 carb then or a 7029214. The rest of it is probably IF 3488 which would be a date code.
If it is a 7029214 (which I suspect), you have a R4-4MV the 4MV is a divorce choke (remote choke) Rochester Quadrajet 4 barrel, this carburetor has a part number of 7029214 and used on 68-69 Chev &GMC Truck carburetor; you got this one
That's the one, thank you very much for your help, don't know where that other guy came up with that crap off the top of his head. At least the intake manifold and distributor that I have are real 68/69 vette parts, anyone need a nice truck carb?
